Wouldn't that be the same thing as reinstalling update.zip from the Coby site?
For MID7015: COBY - Kyros Internet Touchscreen Tablet
has the update.zip and video showing how
Tell me more about date assert.
This week I plan to experiment with update.zip to unzip - zip - sign (found a java script). I know that newer MID7015s come with a newer build version and refuse the update.zip - apparently due to the date stamp. Would I hit a trap of not being able to go back to the update.zip due to date assert? That is a newly signed update.zip would have a later date than the original thus not letting me re-install the original.
System Info - from "About device" in settings:
Model number: MID7015
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Kernel version: 2.6.29 Root android 2.1
Build number: MID7015 1.6a_20101105-2
after update the same except:
Build number: MID7015 1.6a_20101124-3
Newer units ship with a build that is newer than 2010 11 24
I think the - number is back to -1 though.
I checked the Coby web-site today. Always the same size file as what I downloaded in December. I don't think there is a second update.zip.
