Trying to salvage one of a pair of Cobys, I removed the PCB and battery from a dead 7042 (some mysteriously grounded components) and installed a good 7022 PCB/battery (7022 LCD/touchscreen both cracked) in the case . The Home/Menu button is now marked "Volume + -", but they still work.
The touchscreens in both units are physically interchangeable, but have different chips. The Frankentablet now works fine with a mouse, but the screen is totally unresponsive. I'm thinking it's a driver issue, but how to fix it?
The tablet's not rooted, but I understand that's doable. Once I do that, how/where do I obtain the TS driver, and then what do I do with it? I'm much happier messing with the hardware, but if I had instructions, I figure I could get this done. Anyone have any? Or directions to find some?
Thanks.
