Would it be possible?

@Merl, sorry to hear it didn't work for you. Any issues using the stock 4 GB memory, reflashing, etc?

Sent from my Steev Alldro2 v1.3 MID7024-32G

Putting the stock 4 GB sd back in didn't make any difference.
But now, after taking the 4 GB out and fomating the 16 GB with Windows XP and putting it back in, the MID1024 sees the 16 GB and runs the Upgrade System. I was able to reload the Coby Firmware Update MID1024N-android2.2. It booted up to the unlock screen but the screen is not responding.

I loaded CFW-MID1024-GingerLF-V1.5 and got the same results. (screen doesn't work)

The problems seem to be changing but I still can't get it to work.

I went to buy a new one just to find the price had gone up $100 (was $199, now $299)
I think I will order a new one from Amazon. My nephew wants this one if I get it going.

Thanks

Merl

have u try to fix the position of the internal microsd using other tape? maybe the tape is loose. and try to use microsd which is class 4 and higher, some say they prefer class 6 to 10.

Been there, done that. The SD card is nice and snug in the holder and now even has a peice of mouse pad foam taped to it.

It now boots up and sees the internal SD but the tousch screen no longer works.

I loaded the Volcano 13 CFW. This lets me get past the unlock screen by pressing the Menu button. all the other buttons work also.(search, back, home, menu, browser, Vol up, Vol Dn, power) but the screen will not accept any input.

Thanks,

Merl

Have you done the calibration?

This is the first I've heard of any calibration.

Please do tell me how to go about it.

Thanks,

Merl

You'll find it one of your apps (it's has the blue square icon) or under settings. Try to see if you can even access that app. If you can access it, all you have to do is press the plus sign (if touch screen will respond).

The touch screen seems to be the problem now, it won't respond to anything.

have you tried kairnage suggestion using a magnifying glass to see if u might have damage a slot? i hope u can fix your tablet cause im about to open my coby too and replace it with a 16gb microsd.but now im hesitant to do it.

yep, I looked everything over with magnifying glass but didn't see anything. That's not to say that there was nothing to see, just that I didn't see anything.

I'm wondering if it's faulty hardware since my problem started off as not being able to see the internal SD card. That somehow got fixed but now the screen will not respond.

Good luck with yours.

I have new one on the way and I am just dumb enough to try it again.

I suggested the calibration step because sometimes touch screen is unresponsive without going through the calibration (from my experience). So now your tablet is locked in the homescreen? It's a capacitive screen right? So you need to use a stylus or your nails to calibrate it. But if it is totally unresponsive, I'm guessing something went wrong when you tried to change the internal sd card.

I meant resistive, sorry.

Ya, that's my guess to. must have messed something up in there.

Thanks,

I was able to change mine because 4Gb is just not enough. Fortunately, no damaged done. Tried very hard not to hit anything.

I did try a mouse and a keyborad and a keyboard with touchpad but none of the worked.
I also tried connecting to the PC using USB but the PC would not recognize the tablet.
The tablet shows the USB and Debugging icons in the notification bar.
On the PC 2 removable drives show up but can not be accessed. And it asks for drivers for S5PQTG-USB.

The Keyboard/Touchpad worked with the tablet before but doesn't now.

Thanks,

Merl
