A1CS x220 E mail question

I've just got an A1CS x220 Tablet with Android 4 and by trial and error found out how to do most stuff. But is there a place in the email app where I can put contacts or are my contacts supposed to be somewhere else on the tablet that I don't know about yet? When I had Android 2 there were icons for phone and contacts but they dissappeared when I loaded Android 4 . Any suggestions
