Just recently Acer announced their newest Olympics-marketed Android Tablet the Iconia A510 Olympic Edition Tab. Unfortunately, it looks like there will be a delay with the device. Acer just posted on their Facebook Germany page that a faulty component has been found in the device, so shipments have been halted. Due to this, Amazon has also stopped taking pre-orders of the device temporarily. Acer did not give specifics on what the faulty component was, or how long it will take to get it replaced. They did share that there was no need for folks that already received theirs to worry, because those tablets have already passed through their final quality assurance testing. Here's a (Google translated from German - thus slightly butchered) quote from Acer confirming this:

IMPORTANT: Already delivered Tablets are NOT affected by the problem. The Acer quality control passes only those components that are also 100% ok and can be installed. By the end of June we are all devices that are in arrears, and in addition, deliver to.

Additionally, Acer made sure to confirm that everything was A'OK with the A700 tablet. They confirmed that the higher-end offering will be shipping between June 11 and 17.

Sound off in the forums if you have been affected by this (either with a faulty tablet, or a delayed order).
