Ad-hoc fix? (Please read)

Can anyone link me to a walkthrough for letting a wowpad "see" and connect to Ad-hoc networks? As I've been unable to perform a Nandroid backup I would like to only follow instructions which have been verified to work.
Btw, I'm running 1568 FW.
