ADB and archos 101

(this is for devs and modifiers)

has anyone had troubles connecting there archos 101 to the android sdk (adb)
I cant seem to get it. I wanna pull everything off of it for backup and to see if i can port anything to my other tablets.
Does it need rooted first? (i know of the modified rooted firmware but im not installing it.)

i do have the source files for the tablet but some files i want are not in it unless they are and i cant find them.

Nvm. Rooted my archos101 then I was able to get what I wanted
