Airplane Mode feature on Andriod for the VT-1008

What does the Airplane mode on or off do in the VT1008? I know with the android phone it turns off the celluar signal. Dose it shut off WiFi or is it just a left over feature from the Android phone?

Usually Airplane mode will turn off all connections cellular, wifi and bluetooth for any device. I'm not sure if the vtab also shuts down the GPS chip in Airplane Mode and this seems to vary a little more depending on the manufacturer than the other 3.

Also, if an application normally use either wifi or downloaded data, airplane mode will tell the application to use only downloaded data. I use the YouVersion Bible application. If I have my tablet set in wifi mode, all of the versions that are available online are shown when I tap the version in the upper right corner. If I am in airplane mode, it says, "No connection. Showing downloaded only."
