Android 2.2 "Set up SIM card lock"

Could you guys and girls try the following to see if you have the same issue?

Start you tablet without 3G SIM card inserted (if a 3g module inside):

1. Goto "Settings"
2. Goto "Location and Security"
3. Goto "Set up SIM card lock"
4. Turn off "Lock SIM card"

<ENTER PIN> ???

How to do this? Why is it turned on for me from factory? I don't know this pin, it's not coming from my cellphone SIM card...

Does anyone know what to do to get rid of this "software" lock?

modem is locked

Well it's a ZTE MF210 internal 3G Module

I don't understand why the android settings are enabled under "SIM card lock" even when no SIM card used. Is it for sure a modem lock or is Android locked with some password in the ROM?
Someone that has a clue who can help me out pls send me a msg...

Well it's a ZTE MF210 internal 3G Module

Checked overthere, they cannot unlock this modem because it's an android device.
They need you to plug the modem in a Windows XP/7 pc!

Any other ideas?

the modem - miniPCI express. Connect it to a computer via an adapter. (miniPCI express -> PCI). The tablet will have to disassemble
Do at your own risk (extreme version)

talk to sellers tablet .. they need to know .. their fault that the modem is locked

hi, mine kind of Dawa D9 with 3g, when the 1st time i plug in the sim card it also not working, set the apn, vpn, rebooting over n over, still the 3g icon didnt show up. The strange thing is after 4-5 days when i turn on the tablet, the 3g icon show up just like that, so weird. My friend also experience same thing with me after bought 7" apad A9, thats funny, we both laugh like hell

So i dont think its locked bcos mine working
