Archos 7 160Gb Charge faults?

Hi guys. Any one stripped the Archos 7 160Gb at all? I am trying to find out how the charging system is wired . My young son has connected a 12v charger to it and since then..it does not work! I have stripped it down and found 5.38 volts to a small rectifier on a printed board. However..i cannot seem to find how to get that across to the battery for charging? Any Ideas at all?

My Sympathies, but you have learned a hard lesson. The only solution is to buy a donor unit off E-Bay and put your skills to work. otherwise, you have a large paperweight
