Those lamenting the lack of a 3G version of the hugely popular Eee Pad Transformer version will be able to have it soon. For the Transformer with 3G capabilities built into it has landed up in the Italian site for Asus with prices too being mentioned. On offer are two versions with 16 and 32 GB of on-board memory. Price for the 16 and 32 GB versions as mentioned is 499 and 599 respectively, both inclusive of VAT. In equivalent dollar terms, the price comes out to about $710 and $850, both being a bit on the higher side.
There is no mention of when the 3G enabled Transformer will reach markets though its expected to happen sometime in August. Also, Asus hasnt yet revealed when the tablet would reach other parts of the world. The Transformer is already one of the best selling Android Tablet and the latest move on part of Asus to bring in the 3G version is expected to rake in more numbers.
Everything else with the tablet remains identical with the Wi-Fi version of the Transformer. So there will be the same 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 resolution display, 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra II processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 1.2 megapixel and 5 megapixel camera built into the front and rear of the tablet along with a 3.3Ah battery. The Transformer already comes equipped with Wi-Fi while on the left side of the tablet lies the SIM card slot.
