This kind of goes against what was all over the tech sites yesterday about the Eeepad Transformer being delayed until June. So take it with a grain of salt until something concrete is announced.

Where do you buy an ASUS EeePad Tranformer? And when can you buy an ASUS EeePad Transformer?
First off, the 16GB version will run you $399. The 32GB version costs $499. And the optional keyboard dock is another $150.
You can pick up the ASUS EeePad Transformer starting April 26 at the following locations:

With this pricing and the tech specs, This unit is supposed to be a hot sale item for Android and non-Apple fans. It looked like a "Netbook" yet more green power than ever. Way to go ASUS.

Too bad ASUS is still thinking its product to sell like a "Computer". Instead of a cover all wireless mobile device. This APAD should have a built-in 3G chip as well. I know "first to market" is just as important.

Overall very competitive to other products currently on the market. (including Viewsonic GPad, Mot's Xoom and Atrix,....)

I honestly don't think there are very many stores left that do layaway. The only one that comes to mind is Kmart. Just save your pennies. It will be there when you have the funds together. Not like it is gonna sell out and be gone.

I am thinking to get this tablet (what sold me was the keyboard attachment. I'd've never thought about it if it didn't have it) but it's pricy for me and I don't want to spend money on something that I won't use. What are the advantages of having a tablet when I already have my droid x?

This is the cheapest tablet that you can buy at this tier (1) level. Like most tablets, don't ask what this tablet can do, but what general tablets can do that your phone can't.

You can use it to read e-books, put movies on it, you can do work on it via google docs, when more tablet specialised apps come out you can use those, games that require bigger screen.

Go to the asus forum and view the review thread, there is an awesome video review there.

Ah, the golden question... "Do I need it?" LOL... I don't. Not at all, but I would like it for kicking back on the couch and surfing the web, or using it on the bus on the way to and from work, etc... A total luxury item for me. (I have an EVO Droid phone already).
