Backup & restore

Hi everyone,

tablet : Huawei Ideos S7 Slim ( S7 - 201 u , shipped from Sunrise - Switzerland)

I'm just beginner with android & S7 slim ... so I have few questionmarks to solve ....

1) how to save my configuration after spending quite some time to adjust it for my needs...
Is there a kind of ghost to create an image and restore it ? or simply copy files ? or even simpler... just save new params & app added&modified ?

2) Reset / factory defaults: in the menu Privacy that I can restore device to factory settings... did not yet tried this... since I wish to make a backup first... but question about this reset: does it will erase everything and restore system as I reveived it ? thanks to give me few details about it ...

3) Where / what tools to use to save & flash rom ? ...mainly first to SAVE my rom contens...
I have seen this 2 links in this forum... but I canot download it ! If any body could give me à server link for it ( Megaupload or else... ) or another url working ?

Read how to install Clockwork, lets you make a complete backup that can be used to fully restore everything on your device. Also, get Titanium Backup from the market, and pay for the license, allows you to batch backup and restore. The factory reset doesn't totally wipe it, again read about the rooting, etc. Many of the posts in the technical section of the Hauwei sub-forum cover these questions and provide downloads for any files you might need.

As far as a manual, there is not a lot, but that is what we are for!! Ask and someone here will try to answer. Finally, Congrats on the new tablet, and welcome to the forum!

I've read some the post here .... but as a Newbie ... I'm a bit confused...
I've read this:

If someone with a good knowlege can confirm me the steps , I would appreciate.
What I want to do in the first step: Make a FULL backup ( ROM & my own configuration )
... and then try a RESTORE ... to see if it will hopefully work 100%.
So, according my forum readings, I should:

2) Enter into fastboot mode ( by pressing and holding VOLUME UP & POWER button) ...ok, it works, I am now on a black screen saying:
Enter into fastboot mode ( You can press HOME + BACk ) to reboot the device
...so I am in the fastboot mode BUT i canot test/check the reboot ...I don't know where/what is HOME + BACK ...I only have 2 buttons on my S7 slim : Power & volume +/- ... any suggestion here ? ( the only things I found is to cut power and restart... works ok...)


3) ...now...not sure of what to do... probably have the usb tablet connection ready ? and use programs downloaded ?
Is there a thread who give all detailled operations ? ...to finally get the Rom & config on backup file.....

Thanks for help ... newbie since first tablet and first step's with android...

It seems recovery not works on s7 SLIM because of cannot select it, at least on my s7 slim seems that way. What more, some other guys encounted the same problem from the following thread.
