Hi there I am new to this, my daughters tablet isn't holding charge, when fully charged it only seems to last about 30 mins but when we plug it in it says it is at 40%. Just wondering of re setting to factory settings will solve this problem or do we need a new battery? Any advice would be helpful thank you.

Try to restore it by new installation , if it doesn't change anything the battery needs to be fixed.

what model and what brand is it?

also make sure if its new and it turns out to be a hardware issue to go back to the store in time, because sometimes battery warranty is only a couple of weeks.....
