I have a Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and am looking for a full screen calendar widget to view my monthly appointments

You can try the demo version of Touchdown, which includes widgets. I find them to be the best combination of form and function, esp if you have an exchange account that you are connecting to.

You might want to try Jorte. It's not fullscreen but does have different size widgets and syncs with google calendars. I believe it syncs with other calendars as well.

Look at Android Agenda widget. It has 4x4, 4x5, and 5x3 widgets among the many options and it's appearance can be customized as you like.
