Can OTG Card Reader Be Used on RCA Tablet?

Hi I'm new and have no idea where to start. I did do some searching but couldn't find an answer. I have an RCA 7" tablet and am wondering if I can use a card reader on it. I 'think' an OTG card reader would work, but it says OTG has to be enabled on my tablet.My Micro usb port says - connect to PC or storage device or charge.
I did search for how to tell if my tablet has OTG enabled, all I got was download some app but reviews say it dumps a lot of ads on your device and isn't reliable in the first place.
Can someone point me in the right direction, please.?

Meanwhile, here are some OTG checkers for you to check out. After checking, delete the app you picked, and the ads etc. should all go away with it.
