Can this type of Nook be rooted?

Can the Nook WiFi be rooted to run applications? The one I have has a serial # starting with 10033 and the firmware is 1.4.1. If so, can someone point me in the direction of the instructions?

I take it this is the original Nook reader with the e-ink screen an the color touch screen across the bottom? My understanding is that it can be rooted but you won't gain much by doing so. No Market, no apps etc.
