Can you develop apps on the Kindle Fire... ? need great value table for 12 yr old

Hope someone can help me. My 12 yr old son develops Android apps. He wants a tablet to test his apps... wondering if the Kindle Fire would be a good option. Wouldn't kill him to read a book or two? If not the Fire, is there another tablet around 200 the would be suitable. Thanks... Mom In Over Her Head.

Get the kindle fire HD 7 inch its better then the 1st kindle fire
Best surround sound
great screen resolution also good for testing applications give it a shot your son will love it
