My backup Nexus 7 has a microphone problem, and the local "phone repair" guy says the microphone is "fried" and I should "just buy a new phone." 
so I'd rather use it for GPS nav until I get the microphone fixed. I was using it to record racetrack laps before.
So I need a microphone, apparently.
I still prefer this Nexus 7 to any modern tablet. It could only be improved with the addition of a microSD slot. Other tablets seem fine, exzcept some dummy put the back camera in the middle!
I wouldn't mind sending it off to anyone, if they can fix it. I'd just clear it all out and reload from the backup.
