Cannot Get Onto the Internet

I bought a tablet on the internet and I cannot get onto the internet or gmail. In settings it says that the tablet is connected and that the connection is excellent however when I try to go to gmail or any website I get a message stating that it cannot locate the server.....

In addition, I called Verizon to see if I could add the tablet to my phone service and they told me that unless I bought the tablet from them that it is not equipped to get onto the cell tower.

Hi Jeretta. Although your device is stated as an Ocean E-Pad Tablet we will need some more information as to what model it is. Does it have a phone sim card slot or is it just a WIFI model and how are you currently "connected" to the Internet? I know you called Verizon but unless you have a Verizon phone subscription and the tablet is equipped for 3G or 4G you will not be able to get service from them.
