Can't Figure It Out

about a week or so ago i got myself a Coby 9.7 tablet,i was told a had to get a SSID# so i call cable company and they gave it to me along with password but i still cant hook up to my wifi. where do i put these numbers?

You need a wireless router, the router supplies the SSID, you can rename it to anything you want.
My SSID is vampirefo.

i have a laptop thats on wifi,do i have to get another router? cant i use same one?

If your laptop is connected then, your tablet should connect to same ssid that laptop is connected to.
