Can't get Kyros to start in FWDN mode

Hey guys, I have a with 2.1 installed and I wanted to "modernize" it with 2.3.3 so I read a few tutorials on the internet but can't get past the FWDN step, I hold home and power buttons together and it shows show info on the top left side of the screen, version, bootloader, ram, flash and the Coby logo in the middle but the computer detects an unknown device, from what I've heard the Kyros should display "FWDN" on the screen.
Can you guys tell me how to get into FWDN mode?

btw: I've already installed "Superuser", rooted?
