Can't read PowerPoint files attached to email?

I'm still fairly new at Android and am unable to read .pps files people send me. Even if I download and install programs that say they read pps files, I get a message (info) that tells me I need to go to the market and get a program to enable me to read them when I try to open that file in the email.

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?
