Charging question

Ive just purchased my galaxy tab 10.1 and am wondering if plugging the usb/30 pin cable into a computer should charge it?

Typically, a USB port doesn't provide enough power to charge a tablet.

What about a car charger? I looked at the car charger on the samsung website and it looked just like a standard usb to car port charger

A car charger would definitely work. Check the output voltage of your regular charger and make sure the output of the car charger matches it. (Or if you're nervous about frying your 10.1, get a Samsung. )

Yes it should charge it, I have mine plugged into mine and get a charged indication, make sure its directly into the computerour or into a powered usb hub.
