I just received a PM from a user asking me to help him root his tablet and get the Play Store on it so he could install Angry Birds and give it to his 6-year-old daughter. Seriously folks, Christmas Eve really is not the best time to attempt to root a device. Too many things can go wrong, leaving you without a gift to give to your sons or daughters, and I really don't want you folks to be in that position.
If you're giving a tablet to your son or daughter, don't root it. Simply download the Amazon Appstore from the official link and install it using the directions Coby thoughtfully provided here. Unless your sons or daughters genuinely are into computers and technology they're likely not going to care where they get their apps from, as long as the app is available.
