Clock Settings

I have a new kit kat 4.4 tablet. I am unable to have it automatically change the clock to the correct time.
When I select the automatic settings, the time is incorrect, even though I have selected the correct time zone.
I at my wits end

How far off is the time? If it's getting the time based on your WiFi it can be off by hours, not minutes, because it is picking up the information from the location of the outside IP address, (WAN) IP) location, not yours.
