Hello together,

need your help after following situation:

After receiving another Tablet from COBY support Germany, I have tried again successles
to install CWM-Recovery from VampireInfo with the ADB-tool of Traveller1701:

I went into Stock Recovery and installed 7048_recovery_signed via install zip then happens
this: I saw the progress bar of installation, then the coby makes a reboot into the system,
coby factory 4.03.

Since this moment, I cant go into recovery, not via Power+ VOL- nor via System Update in the settings.

I also try to come back to stock recovery without success.

Reading again all the post here in the forum I cant see what was my mistake,
of course the procedures will run by all the other users here. I am confused.

Is there a special way to connect to the recovery partition or anything I can do ?

This is my current system state:
mid7048 is rooted with the factory android installation, no way to come into recovery
and no way to install .zip.

I help myself with Titanium Backup, Android Partition Manager and all the rooting tools which are
available.

I am not the Linux Freak but understand the way to go via ADB,
my system is working well but without CWM-recovery its not perfect

Could somebody give me useful hints, tools, procedures to solve this problem ?

I hope my description is correct and enough.

I stay tuned waiting for help

Thanks in advance

Hi Vampirefo an thanks for your reply.
It is just a suggest of me that this could be the reason.

do you have some magic commands for me via ADB to solve my problem ?!
this would be so great !!

thank you so much in advance (and sorry for my english)

There is no magic commands.
adb shell
reboot recovery

if it doesn't work, you would need pull your boot.img extract kernel repack my recovery with your kernel. Or compile your own recovery.

Hi Vampirefo,

after lots of trials I have to say that I am not able to perform this.
Reboot-recovery stops at the COBY logo screen as any time before at my system.
with the adb root commands i am not allowed because of "production build" but with the SU command manually it goes forward in analysing.
I was able to pull all partition images via system dump of partition info.

The main problem seems to be that all my partition blocks are still in /dev/block/mtdblock(x) and not in nand(y)
my recovery partition is mtdblock6.

It makes no difference in which way I try to install your CWM recovery or going back to stock,
the system says it was successful but nothing happens with reboot recovery

So I am afraid that ...
1. I am in a loop with the only working COBY factory stock rom system partition with no possibility to get into recovery (nether your CWM or STOCK)
2. I dont have the knowledge to extract the kernel nor compile my own recovery

My hope was you can give me an advice just to push your cwm based files via adb
to my coby so that I can start normaly as all other users.

Because of my bricking experience from February I am just afraid that I do a mistake.

Checking all the threads here doesn´t help me what I have done wrong

So I am frustrated what was my mistake just to install your CWM also with the
Infos of Acidburn23 and Traveler1701 in my initiated thread http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/coby-generation-3/54450-coby-mid7048-factoryreset-bricked-2.html

As I understand the Android also from my Mobile Devices I need a recovery partition and dialog for flashing ROM / System partition,
otherwhise I bricked my device again. This is my problem

sorry for delay + thanks for your help ...

the only reboot way is going again into stock coby systems,
the tablet accepts the reboot command but the only booting procedure is in the system

so I guess the bootloader is missed/crashed ?!
that was the similar situation / systemstate in january when I flashed the boot-partition from the system dump,
after that, my tablet was bricked because only the coby logo appears after that

time to cancel my activities because no way out ?
