Coby Kyros: Sync'ing Google (GMail) calendar

I have searched all over and can't find an answer.
When I open the calendar app it asks me for email address and pw, which I enter.
After it retreives the account info, it asks for domain name\Username and it has passwod filled in.
Server says gmail and when I click next it tells me it couldn't open connection to server.

What am I doing wrong?

I am not seeing this at all, my guess you didn't install GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk ?

What tablet and which firmware?

Google syncing does't come preinstalled with any Kyros tablet, you have to manually install it. That setting is for an Exchange account. Actually, Google offers Exchange service, it works on iPhone so it may work on your tablet as well. Look for more info in the help pages.

If your tablet isn't rooted (or you don't know how to do it) then installing Google sync may not work, I suggest that you use a third party calendar app like Jorte.
