4.2.1 android tablet won't load google play. An error com.google.process.gapps keeps popping up. He's tried everything from clearing cache, disabling apps, and finally to resetting tablet back factory. On top of everything his download manager completely disappeared.

I would have suggested go to your app manager and disable googleplay,then re-enable it.Or factory reset,you would think that would have defo worked.
But try this anyway, uninstall googleplay store updates from app manager.
It may then work and auto download updates again but it should still work.

I got that error on my JXD S602 android gaming device and pretty sure I did both of those and it fixed the problem for me.
