connection to internet through usb

I buy a usb to LAN adapter .
I connect my tablet to lan plug in my router through the usb to LAN adapter.
It does not work.
the same usb to LAN adapter works great in my friend house with his tablet.
My router has 4 lan plugs. 1 is used for my PC.
I enable the internet option in mt tablet but still...

Not all LAN adapters are compatible with all the various tablets available. You will need to find one that is compatible with your tablet.

Most of the ones I have seen that work are intended for Apple devices. Does it seem to recognize that the adapter is even plugged in?

Is there other solution? like using my PC win7 with a usb connection to my tablet?
