Craig Klu 7" Tablet - Battery Keeps Going Dead

Hi I have a Klu 7 inch by Craig. The battery keeps gpoing dead and even when its plugged in it wont stay charged it runs out of juice and shuts off. What should I do? Can I replace the battery with a NiCd Sanyo cordless home phone battery without the powerboard? Can I take my USB charger wire cut off the end and hook it directly to the battery and through the powerboard on the battery? ANY IDEAS?
