We bought a Craig Netbook for our daughter for Christmas and have not been able to figure out where the parental controls are. Can anyone shed some light on this for us?
You ask about parental control(s). That would be really nice to have, but I don't believe the Craig has anything like that built in.
For home use, you may (might) be able to have the craig connect thru a desktop functioning as a proxy and use the desktop's parental controls (to screen internet traffic).
Check with your Internet Service Provider (Cable, DSL, AOL, Earthlink, whatever) to see if Parental Controls can be applied to all traffic that goes thru your internet connection.
Of course, this is of no use if your daughter goes to a WiFi hotspot like McDonalds or the public library.
Here it is, the middle of January. I'm about 3 weeks late. By now you may have returned the darned thing.
Thanks everyone for the help.
We bought it for her to go on facebook & play games. She hasn't been able to do that because of the size of the screen. Not sure if she's tried utube. It would just be nice to block some of the crap that is floating around the internet. We may have to switch to something else with a bigger screen & parental controls.
