Found this site today, read through most of it trying to make up my mind about a tablet. I wanted to replace the wifi Nook, which is slower than molasses in January.
I already have a Samsung Galaxy S 4G and it's rooted, but no custom ROM. I just couldn't stand all the extra stuff that TMO and Samsung put on the phone. I don't game, don't care about movies, FB, and most social stuff. I primarily use the phone as a PDA. I was able to get Adobe Beam reader working, and tried to read on the phone, but it's too small to be comfortable.
I also like astronomy, and unfortunately my favorite app is written for Palm and Ipad.
This app could do it all with no network connection, so I'm hoping that one of the 2 apps I have will work without connection. This is also where the phone is too small. I purposely bought a tablet that was wifi only.
I also have Audubon Guide books on the SGS4G.
I bought a Coby 7024, as the specs seemed similar to the SGS4G.
Will have to figure out if the apps I have will work.
I enjoyed all the posts and advice.
