deleting old account

Hi. First time here, so excuse ignorance!!! Just bought android tablet, cant access market because device seems to be locked into an old account( bought it off ebay). have added new account..no joy. Cant i delete old account or is there any other way to use market with my email account? Looked for privacy under settings as i was told i could delete account there but cant find privacy!!!! Help!!!

What kind of tablet is it? You may need to do a complete reset, which will require a certain combination of button pushes and almost every device is different.
