Do I have an Android 2.2 or an Android 2.3 tablet?

Hi, I've just bought a tablet which was advertised as being an Android 2.3. The little handbook that came with it says the tablet is an Android 2.2, but the seller insists that it is an Android 2.3.
How can I find out for sure what version I have? I'm a complete newby as far as tablets are concerned!

I would be most grateful for any help with this problem!

Open "settings". Scroll to "about phone". Version is listed there.
