Do tablets need data plan?

I have verizon fios internet and tmobile phone plan.

I want to get an basic android tablet, 7" or 10".

will I beable to use to use it outside(I mostly want to) or will I need an seprate data plan? thank you

If you get a 3G equipped tablet, then in order to go outside of your WiFi range, then yes it will require some sort of data plan. There are some plans that are pay-as-you-go where you buy packs of data and others that give you month to month service. I have a WiFi only tablet and can only go online at home or where there is a WiFi signal. Nowadays though there are more and more free WiFi spots available. Which is great for me.
