External Keyboard does not work on Premium 7 Nextbook Tablet

Hi,
Need some assistance please.

I bought an external keyboard for my 7" Premium 7 Nextbook tablet but for some reason the tablet could not detect the keyboard. I connected the keyboard to my PC and my tablet as well on a separate occasion, both were working fine. Is that mean that the keyboard is not compatible with the tablet? Is there a way to connect that using a special application?

What I have read on other sites is Nextbook and some other tablets won't work with external keyboards. I don't know of any way to fix it.

I received a Nextbook 7 for christmas, and a case/keyboard shortly after for my birthday. when opening an app that requires input an icon appears in the "tray" similar to the tray by the clock on a pc. by pressing that icon i am able to use my external keyboard. my keyboard has a standard usb that is connected to my tablet with a female to micro usb adapter...
