External SD card stable with 2.2

Running Eclair I was constantly having to physically eject and reinstall the external sd card, a real problem, but with Froyo it seems stable. I am thrilled of course but when I upgraded to 2.2 I also bought a 16gig sd card to replace the 8 gig card I had been using. It's possible it could have to do with that as well although they are both SanDisk and the 8 gig functioned fine in my Archos 5IT so I don't think there is a problem with it.
I just wondered if anyone else has had the same experience.

I had the same problem when using the card from my archos 5it (nice to see a fellow archos refugee). I fixed it by formatting the card on my tablet. Never had the problem again.
