I have installed and uninstalled several apps. When I use the market, after the market updates, the new apps will not open. They fc on opening. If I remove the market update it seems to help for a while. Then when I reboot, all the apps that I uninstalled are back. What gives?

This fixed it the FC's for me, but I did not uninstall the update. Go into Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Market and clear Data and Cache.

No, I have tried that. If I delete the market upgrade, then for a while, the force close errors are fewer. After I reboot, all are back. Even after a factory reset, some of my settings are still there and all downloaded apps are back. I got no help from verizon chat tech.
