frozen android tablet

I need help , i have an android OS 2.2 tablet and its frozen on the start up screen and wont go any further
how to i unfreeze it?

Hello

If you tab freeze hold the power button for 7 - 8 sec to reset it

I had that happen recently and it reacted to nothing I did. I let the battery run down, plugged it in to power adapter, turned it on and it was no longer frozen.
