If you are in the market for a new Android tablet, but need it to be extra sturdy and secure for harsh environments and situations, then the new Fujitsu Stylistic M532 might just be a good fit. The tablet is now coming to the United States, and although its internal hardware specs are not the most powerful, its still no slouch. Here's a breakdown of this new Android tablet gladiator:
  • NVIDIA ® Tegra® 3 T30S, Quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor
  • Android™ 4.0 Operating System
  • 10.1-inch TFT (IPS-type) wide viewing 1,280 x 800 display
  • 32GB of built-in space
  • 1GB RAM
  • 1x MicroUSB 2.0
  • 1X MicroSD card
  • Docking
  • Front facing 2.0 megapixel camera & Rear facing 8.0 megapixel with auto focus and flash
  • Rugged glass & MIL-STD-810G tested (military-spec abuse tolerances)
  • Optional Absolute CompuTrace theft tracking
The tablet is available now on the Fujitsu website for $549.99. If you were only looking at internals and comparing this directly to the other tablets currently in this price-range, then it would be a bit average; however, if you consider this with the "rugged" features, it's pretty competitive. If you compare it to other tablets in the "Rugged" category, (like the Panasonic Toughpad series at $1299) then its actually a ridiculous bargain at this price.
