When it first hit the scene at Google I/O, many of the 5000 folks that received their Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android Tablet were scratching their heads as to how useable it would be with only the "lone" 30-pin proprietary port on the device. But, Samsung is showing off some connectivity after-all. They recently debuted a bevy of eight different accessories on their German website. Here's a breakdown of them:
  • "Pocket Diary" Case with Kickstand (2 Versions)
  • Leather Sleeve/Bag (2 Versions)
  • BlueTooth Keyboard
  • Keyboard Dock
  • Desktop Docking Station
  • HDMI Adaptor
  • USB Adaptor
  • BlueTooth Headset
This could be a marketing ploy to get more money from customers by having a proprietary design that forces the need for add-ons. However, one could argue that because the Galaxy Tab 10.1 device is so thin and light, Samsung had to go this route to be able to fit what they needed onto the tablet and still keep it thinner than the iPad. What do you guys think? Here's a video of the device and the keyboard dock:

HDMI port make sense, USB connection make sense. Sure it would have been better if they were not proprietary, but I can live with them.

Still omission of MicroSD is not solved.
