Getting videos to play on Acer Iconia?

Okay, so I read something that told me to download something called Rock...something, well I did and it didn't play any videos for me, most of which are MKV files. Do I have to convert these to another format or something? It won't play WMV files either, I've tried.

What files does the Acer support?

I use a program called Vplayer for MWV files (videos) its a buy only program but it works no issues - I believe it also plays wav files but i also bought wav player for wav files (i have a magic jack i use - VOIP phone - BEST VALUE EVER!!!)......both are 5.00 from the Market - they work from 2.2 up....

But of course the info on that page is petty useless since there are dozens of variations within most of the popular formats. Some variations of mp4 work and some fail. Its a lot more complex than simply listing extensions.

I have been using Moboplayer and it plays everything I have tried so far.
