Glaxy 10.1 HDMI to TV

I just purchased the HDMI adapter and HDMI to HDMI cable for the Galaxy 10.1 and hooked it all up to my TV to try and watch a movie that was downloaded on the GT via the media hub app. But when all hooked it all up, there is no signal to the TV from the GT. I checked the cables with my lap tap and it all worked is there a program or something I need to download to watch this? I figured it would be a simple hook up, press play and away we go on the big screen, but no luck.

I have the 4g tablet, Android Version 3.1

The first time you use the HDMI adapter, you have to start with the tablet completely powered off. 1) shutdown the tablet, 2) connect the HDMI cable to the tv and adapter, connect the power cord to the adapter and the power source, connect the adapter to the tablet... it really doesn't matter which order you do these 3 things in , 3) turn on the tv and boot up the tablet...it will then work.
