Hint: I bought mine from Walmart on a credit card that doubles the manufacturer's warranty, up to 1 additional year. I avoid mail order when store prices are the same, to avoid situations like the author went through.

I usually write to the company if I have any problem with their products....it works much better than to call!

Whether you write to a company or call them, whenever you have a problem, does not make much difference if the company has poor customer service. This sounds remarkably similar to problems members are prone to experience with Chinese sellers, such as ebelking.com, except that in this case the company is proudly American.
