Google Movie Does Not Play

Hello, Please help! I have had my Toshiba Thrive for awhile and I just bought my FIRST movie for my daughter off google play, but I can not get it to play. I have tried everything. Downloaded all the updated, re started, clear cache-did all the tips on google play, but it just says over and over "There is a problem while playing" "Touch to retry"- I do that over and over. Is google play not the best place to download movies from? 1) How do I get it to play 2) Any other suggested places to download a movie -so my daughter can watch it in a non-wi fi area (car etc). I am not very high tech so please keep that in mind. Greatly appreciate ANYONES help!
