Google talk authentication failed?

​I just recently bought a 7" 2.2 Android tablet, I really wanted a app so I went to the android market and signed into Google and after I tried to install the app a note popped up saying that Google talk authentication failed, and it would not let me download any apps? Is there a solution to this problem or anything I can do because I would really love to have some apps.
