Got an excite 10 today

Just got my first tablet today and it was the Toshiba excite 10. I know nothing about droid OS yet, been an Apple user up until now. My problem is that I wanted one so I could root it and put my books on it for school, and maybe some games but apparently Santa brought me one of the only brands that doesn't allow you to root.

I tried researching, but it seems no root exists for this. My question is, if there isn't one, I want to return it. Which tablet would allow me to do what I want to do, and also, can you put emulators on rooted tablets to play games like gameboy pokemon games?

I'm curious why you need root, it doesn't sound like anything you want to do would require it.

Tom T is right. Since rooting would void your warranty (and an unsuccessful attempt could brick your tablet) I see no reason to attempt this unless you really need to.
