Green android torso of doom!

I recently received an ePad/flyTouch with android 1.6 for Christmas. It worked fine and well until all of a sudden when I turn it on this morning, it freezes when the android is about to emerge from it's torso in the boot-up animation.

Does anyone know how to fix this and/or open the recovery tool?

Hahaha nice name for a topic! Anyway, that sure seems strange it hangs there, can you reflash using an SD or what happens now when you turn it on ? What do you see/what happens when you turn it on, like LEDs, anything that's on the screen etc...
