A couple of things come to mind --- check these out:
1) your TV has to be set to the correct input source -- (i.e. - if your HDMI cable is plugged into HDMI 2 port, then your TV source must be set to HDMI 2)
2) check the HDMI setting on your tablet, it may need to be turned on (on my CPM741d, it's SETTINGS -> HDMI SETTING). I leave HDMI turned on all the time.
When I attach my CMP741d to my Sony TV, the tablet recognizes the HDMI connection automatically, and the screen image appears on TV.
